Fuel Up To Play 60

The Robert Frost Wellness Council/Fuel Up to Play 60 is a group of 13 students from grades 3-5 who are committed to make Robert Frost a healthier school by being role models and leaders in wellness.  They each applied for this position last spring and were chosen based on their level of enthusiasm to implement challenges and ideas throughout the year.  Members were invited to attend a regional planning summit in Omaha last spring in which they were educated on the Fuel Up to Play 60 program and given ideas to implement in their schools.

The council is already very busy planning for the school year!  Co-parent advisors, Nicole Osmundson and Cynthia Mickelson, as well as teacher advisor, Mrs. Hofer, are in the process of applying for additional funding in order to provide programs throughout the year.  They did receive word that they have already received $1800 for our school this year!  The Wellness Committee will start meeting August 30th so they can start planning for the year.  Several activities they have already committed to are a jump rope assembly on Oct. 5, a Back to Football Friday challenge, taste tests, cooking demonstrations, and other challenges and assemblies.  They are striving to make Robert Frost a healthier school and encouraging every student to take the Fuel Up to Play 60 pledge, which includes a committment to eat healthy and get 60 minutes of physical activity every day.
